Bird Geniuses

In Birds as Individuals, which I've written about before here, Len Howard has made a careful study of the songs composed by the birds in her garden. In particular she hails the blackbird as an 'imaginative genius' for its compositions, and makes notations of the tunes:

That's such an interesting article! What smart birds! Had no idea they developed and improved their songs like that.

Saw one in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC a few years ago about a GREEN HERON that used fish bait pellets to lure fish to with in easy striking distence and of birds that have learned to get at food out of reach and how about that parrot ALEX who could idenifi shapes THESE BIRDS ARE SMARTER THEN THE FOOLS DONATING TO THE VARIOUS ECO-FREAK GROUPS
